Border & padding: common questions
How do borders and padding change the output size?
Each side gains the border width plus outside padding. A 1,536 × 1,024 image with 12-pixel borders and 40-pixel padding becomes 1,640 × 1,128. The result must remain within the output limits.
Can the outside padding be transparent?
Yes. Export PNG or WebP with transparency enabled. JPEG uses a solid background. The colored border remains visible inside the outside padding.
