Export createdHow to compress an image
- Choose a still JPEG, PNG or WebP image, or try the included sample.
- Select JPEG or WebP, choose a quality level, and optionally set a maximum width or target size.
- Process the image, compare the actual file size, and download the result.
Know before you export
Compression changes how pixels are encoded. Lower quality may create visible artifacts. A requested target size is best effort, and converting an already efficient image can produce a larger file. PNG inputs can be exported as JPEG or WebP; this tool does not offer a misleading PNG quality slider.
Supported files
Still JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF up to 20 MiB and 64 megapixels, plus HEIC where your browser can open it (Safari on Mac, iPhone and iPad). Photos above 24 megapixels or 8,192 pixels per side are processed at that size. GIF, SVG and animated images are not supported. Available export formats depend on your browser.

Compress: common questions
Can I compress an image to an exact file size?
Enter a target in KiB. PixelDesk searches within the available quality range without silently changing dimensions. If the target cannot be met, the result reports that. One KiB equals 1,024 bytes.
Can I compress PNG files here?
You can open a still PNG and export a compressed JPEG or WebP. This compressor does not produce optimized PNG files. Use the converter for a lossless PNG export.
